Tablet is most popular among all dosage forms today because of its convenience, ease administration, greater flexibility in form design, production, and low cost non-invasive therapy. Formulation tablets requires API along with excipients. Excipients include lubricants, diluents, binders, glidants, disintegrants, sweetening agents, flavoring etc. Recent trends indicate that multi-particulate drug delivery systems are suitable for achieving extended-release oral formulation a risk dose dumping, mixing to attain difference release patterns, reproducible short gastric residence time. Modern technology immediate-release tablets, such as novel granulation techniques electrostatic dry powder coating techniques, prevalent nowadays. Recently, the has been similar various sustained-release formulations currently readily attainable.
